Rustic Sugarbush Wedding in Quebec : Charles & Amy
Bride and groom win at Canada with a rustic sugarbush wedding in Quebec
For many couples, having a destination wedding makes the guests come to them. But Amy and Charles wanted as many of their family and friends close by on their wedding day as possible. So they went to them.
Having settled in Squamish, British Columbia, after moving from Ottawa, Amy and Charles have built an idyllic life for themselves.
But when it came to planning their wedding, they wanted to honour their family ties and bonds of friendship, choosing La Sucrerie de la Montagne in Rigaud, QC, as their destination and making it easier for guests to attend.
The sugarbush, with its rustic cabins and maple trees bursting with colour, is as iconically Canadian as a beaver drinking a bottle of maple syrup.
The guys got ready in a very dark, log cabin backed by the soundtrack of a crackling fire, while the ladies got ready back in Ottawa.
The bride arrived shortly before the ceremony to change into her dress while guests milled about the grounds enjoying apple cider and Mimosas.
Under the cover of maple trees in all their autumn glory, Amy and Charles said their vows in front of family and friends.
